The delegation was led by Director-General of Trade Policy Bureau of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan Hideo Suzuki. The meeting focused on the progress in the EU-Japan Free Trade Agreement negotiations and Japan’s support in the process of Lithuania’s aim to accede the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development.
The meeting also discussed important issues of bilateral economic cooperation, including bilateral trade, investment, the promotion of scientific cooperation and innovation, negotiations for Lithuania’s export to Japan of beef and beef products. Also, the latest information about the Visaginas Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) project was presented at the meeting.
