The draft amendments on Tuesday passed their second reading in the Seimas in a vote of 58 to seven with 21 abstentions.
One final vote is needed to adopt the amendments, which would allow riflemen and volunteers to acquire and possess B and C category firearms.
Under Lithuania’s law, arms are classified into four categories (A, B, C or D), with Category A arms being the most dangerous and those in Category D being the least dangerous.
