Lithuanian PM: EU must be united for swift and good Ukraine result

“I am of the position that we in the European Union must be united if we want to achieve a swift and good result. (…) We must be united and understand that as a strong team we can convince all countries in the world so that they hear what is happening in Ukraine,” the prime minister told the Žinių Radijas news radio on Thursday morning.

He refused, however, to comment on President Dalia Grybauskaitė‘s recent statements on Russia when she called Russia a terrorist state for sending weapons and troops without identification signs to eastern Ukraine.

“I will definitely not comment on the statements of other people,” he said.

In his words, everything that is happening in Ukraine, including separatists’ actions and Russia providing weapons, is unacceptable. “Ukraine is an undivided country and we must declare that,” Butkevičius underlined.
