During his two-day official visit, Skvernelis is to meet with Moldova’s Prime Minister Pavel Filip and Andrian Candu, the speaker of the parliament, the Lithuanian government said in a press release.
The prime minister-led delegation is also scheduled to meet with the head of NATO‘s mission in Chisinau, as well as with high-level EU advisers and EU Twinning Project experts from Lithuania.
Skvernelis will also discuss the security situation in the region, bilateral trade relations and economic cooperation, the EU Twinning project and other relevant issues.
This is the first visit by a Lithuanian prime minister to Moldova since 2010.
Lithuania and Moldova last year marked 25 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
