Lithuanian Riflemen’s Union and State Border Guard Service to step up cooperation

The agreement was signed by Renatas Požela, the head of VSAT, and Liudas Gumbinas, the head of LSS.

VSAT has committed to provide methodological assistance to LSS, organise theoretical and combat training of its members, enable them to use VSAT infrastructure. VSAT and LSS also agreed to organise tactical exercises. Moreover, VSAT may now draw the assistance of LSS if it is necessary to augment the protection of the state border.

Members of the Lithuanian Riflemen’s Union will provide border guards with the information about border violations or other legal offences in the border area. They will also promote the profession of the border guard among their members.

The sides will take part in cultural, educational and sports events together.

The cooperation agreement stipulates that ties will be established among structural subdivisions of VSAT and territorial units of LSS as well.
