Ardzijauskas, a fire-and-rescue officer by profession, embarked on his journey on Oct. 24 last year and ran across Senegal, Mauritania, Morocco, Spain, France, Italy, Austria, the Czech Republic and Poland. It took him 102 days to reach Lithuania.

The man covered two marathons every day: one in the morning and one in the evening, a total of over 80 km per day, both on roads and off-road conditions, also in the mountains.

Upon his return to Lithuania, Ardzijauskas said he would give his body six months to rest and would not engage in any similar projects for the coming two years.

The man said he would return to his fire-and-rescue station in Vilnius after a brief time off in Lithuania.
