Lithuanian Seimas speaker to join NB8 meeting in Riga

The parliamentary speakers of Finland, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Iceland, Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia are meeting to discuss political, economic, migration, security and counter-terrorism developments and challenges in Europe, as well as regional cooperation in enhancing energy security and cyber security, the Seimas’ public relations office said in a press release on Friday.

NB8 is a regional co-operation format that includes Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, and Sweden. The countries have cooperated in various areas and at different political levels since 1992. Each year, a different country coordinates the NB8 agenda on a rotating basis.
