The Defence Ministry said that the repairs were completed on Thursday.
The plane’s new propeller cost nearly 554,000 euros and other repairs added around 140,000 euros.
“Mandatory scheduled aircraft maintenance will now be performed. It must be performed at certain intervals or after the plane has flown a certain number of hours, irrespective of its technical condition,” Asta Galdikaitė, the ministry’s spokeswoman, told BNS.
The Lithuanian military in 2006 purchased three Spartan aircraft from Italy for 75 million euros. Currently, only one of the Spartans can operate flights as another plane is also undergoing maintenance checks.
The Spartans are used to fly troops to international missions and for Lithuanian leaders’ flights.
