The main role of a NATO contact point embassy is to spread information about the Alliance’s activities and policies, organize education-type events, and communicate with the local press, government institutions and non-governmental organizations.
Lithuania’s embassy to Ukraine has been performing these functions since 2015.
Lithuania acted as a NATO contact point embassy in Sweden in 2013 to 2014, and in Georgia in 2011 to 2012. Before that, the country performed this role in Moldova and Belarus.
