MEPs attack Commission for failing ‘to grasp seriousness of situation’ on Belarus nuclear plant

The European Commission expects to receive the plant’s stress test results from Belarus shortly.

The EC says that Minsk has promised to share the test results this year or in 2017. However, it adds, it cannot force a non EU member state perform the stress tests.

Lithuanian MEP Bronis Ropė argues that the EC is trying to dodge responsibility when it says it cannot force Belarus to do the tests, since there are international agreements in place to that effect.
