Parliament panel suggests adding EUR 10m to Lithuanian defence budget

The committee’s proposal came after discussion of the 2015 budget draft and in response to a relevant request from the Ministry of National Defence.

The ministry said the allocations envisaged in the 2015 budget do not answer the needs of the necessary funding, adding that the proposed budget will mean shortage of money for outfits and food for additional 450 soldiers, as well as for munitions and equipment.
