In a legal act adopted on March 3, the parliament’s board accentuates the necessity to step up the relations with the United States and countries of the Eastern Partnership programme, as well as efforts against the construction of the Astravyets Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) in Belarus.
Parliamentary Vice-Speaker Gediminas Kirkilas of the Social Democrats says that Poland was not listed among the top six fields of parliamentary diplomacy, as maintaining international relations with the neighboring country costs less than analogous ties with other countries, for instance, the United States.
