President Grybauskaitė hands out Global Lithuanian Awards

“By presenting awards to Lithuanians who live and work in Lithuania and abroad, we recognize and appreciate the architects of our dynamic, modern and growing state. We acknowledge those whose ideas turn to meaningful work and create added value. Those who are proud of their state and can serve as role models for us all. Those who declare, loudly and proudly: my Lithuania,” she said.

According to the president, these awards are an honour and a responsibility, too. They are commitment to work for Lithuania without fearing new challenges, and to inspire those around you.

The head of state expressed her strong hope that the laureates and participants of the award ceremony would always remain with Lithuania, strengthening and protecting it.
