“I can only tell that a very detailed study of the whole Lithuanian energy system has been conducted. Now we will give this study to the Hitachi company [strategic investor in the NPP project], a meeting is to be held in September. I really do not want to reveal the goals yet, certain proposals have been sent. Let us hope that we will present this new Lithuanian energy strategy to the Seimas, the society, it is really an exceptionally huge, comprehensive study and analysis,” told Butkevičius to journalists on Thursday.
Asked what had been said about the nuclear energy in the study, the prime minister said everyone would have to wait to find out.
“Let us wait for a while to learn what it says about the NPP. The novelty of this study is that synchronisation was used while conducting the research, analysis and drawing conclusions,” said the head of the Cabinet.
