Progress on the construction of the quay and gas pipeline was discussed at the meeting. Rokas Masiulis, head of Klaipėdos Nafta, a company which is carrying out the project, informed the prime minister about technical details and completed tasks. In July, work will commence on the installation of main equipment on the service platform.
“I was informed that Klaipėdos Nafta is seeking to boost construction efficiency. The contractors were asked to work three shifts and assign more employees for the project to be completed in time. All measures have to be employed to prevent any possible risks. Now everything is being done to complete the terminal in time,” Butkevičius said.
The LNG terminal project has to be finished by end of 2014.
