Putin congratulates Estonia on its independence

“Vladimir Putin congratulated Ilves on Estonia’s Independence Day and wished him happiness and wished well-being for the people of the republic,” the Russian embassy in Tallinn wrote in a post on its Facebook page on Monday.

On 24 February, the Republic of Estonia will celebrate the 98th anniversary of its declaration of independence. At the time, Soviet Russia was the first country to acknowledge Estonia’s independence.
