Russian separatist leader in Donetsk had a permanent residence permit in Lithuania

In 2014 a Lithuanian citizen reported to SSD that he had found a photo of a head of a Vilnius company in a Russian separatist uniform.

Lithuanian intelligence started an investigation and found that Akopov actually participated in the Russian campaign against Ukraine. Akopov assembled and trained a group of men with whom he later participated in the capturing of Donetsk municipal administration building.
