“VSD officer Tomas Jakučionis was dismissed from service for violating Article 40 of the Law on Intelligence that prohibits using opportunities provided by service for purposes other than those related to the service,” VSD spokeswoman Aurelija Katkuvienė told BNS.
The 15min.lt news site has reported that Jakučionis, who was in charge of energy matters at VSD, leased a plot of land to solar power plant builders.
VSD has admitted earlier that the officer failed to comply with the ban on intelligence offices to engage in economic, commercial or self-employment activities.
