Security body fires intelligence officer over conflict of interest

“VSD officer Tomas Jakučionis was dismissed from service for violating Article 40 of the Law on Intelligence that prohibits using opportunities provided by service for purposes other than those related to the service,” VSD spokeswoman Aurelija Katkuvienė told BNS.

The 15min.lt news site has reported that Jakučionis, who was in charge of energy matters at VSD, leased a plot of land to solar power plant builders.
