“This is a long-planned bilateral meeting (originally) scheduled for June, but postponed due to other trips,” Karolina Frolovienė, his spokeswoman, told BNS on Tuesday.
Pranckietis plans to meet with Yuli-Yoel Edelstein, the speaker of the Knesset, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and other politicians, she said.
The speaker is to be accompanied on the trip to Israel, scheduled for October 15 to 18, by Vytautas Bakas, chairman of the parliament’s Committee on National Security and Defense, Juozas Bernatonis, chairman of the Committee on Foreign Affairs, and MP Emanuelis Zingeris.
Edelstein visited Lithuania a year ago and Netanyahu paid a visit two weeks ago.
Lithuania is one of Israel’s strongest diplomatic supporters in the EU.
