Some 80 Lithuanian tourists are in Tunisian resort of Sousse

“We have two clients in Port el Kantaoui, where the attack took place. This is a special situation. Our foreign representatives are with all the tourists all the time. They are visiting them in hotels and are keeping them updated on the situation,” Dovilė Zapkutė, a marketing project manager at Novaturas, told BNS.

The company is currently making decisions on flying the tourists back to Lithuania, Zapkutė said.

“We are now planning our return flights for next week. We want to do it as quickly as possible,” she said.

The Lithuanian Foreign Ministry told BNS on Friday that diplomats had no information about Lithuanian casualties in Tunisia.

Thirty-eight people, mostly British tourists, were killed and tens more were injured when at least one gunman opened fire in a hotel in the Port El Kantaoui district of Sousse.

Some 150 kilometers from the Tunisian capital, Sousse is a popular resort among locals and Europeans.
