Swimmer Meilutytė to continue career in Kaunas

“After starting to train in Kaunas I decided I wanted to be in the city I grew up in. The possibility of going abroad was no longer an option,” Meilutyte, 19, told journalists.

Meilutyte was away from swimming since the performance in the Rio de Janeiro Olympics where she finished the 100 m breaststroke in 7th position.

After traveling in South America, Europe and Lithuania with her brothers, she only returned to compete in December.
