A company-sized contingent of US paratroopers from US Army Europe’s 173rd Airborne Brigade from Vicenza, Italy, arrived in Šiauliai, northern Lithuania, replacing the rotation from the same brigade’s 91st Cavalry Regiment.
Just as the outgoing rotation, the incoming troops will be stationed at the Mechanized Infantry Brigade Iron Wolf’s Duke Vaidotas Mechanised Infantry Battalion in Rukla.
The American troops will continue active training with troops from the Lithuanian Land Force and take part in joint training events Saber Junction and Flaming Thunder.
Lithuania is providing all necessary host nation support for the American troops.
The United States sent a company-size contingent to the Baltic states and Poland each in the wake of the Ukrainian crisis.
