Germanas will take office as vice-minister on Tuesday, Skusevičius on Jan. 11, and Zananavičius on Jan. 16.
Linkevičius, Germanas and Skusevičius are members of the Lithuanian Social Democratic Party.
Germanas, who has the diplomatic rank of an ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary, held the post of deputy foreign minister between 2012 and 2016 under Linkevičius as foreign minister. In the past, he has served as an ambassador-at-large at the Foreign Ministry’s European Affairs Department and director of the department, as well as Lithuania’s ambassador to the Council of Europe and the country’s ambassador to Finland.
Zananavičius, who also has the rank of an ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary, has served as Lithuania’s deputy permanent representative to the EU since 2014. In the past, he has worked at Lithuania’s permanent representation to the United Nations office and other international organizations in Geneva and has served as Lithuania’s permanent representative to the World Trade Organization.
Skusevičius, who has the diplomatic rank of a first secretary, has served as minister counselor at Lithuania’s permanent representation to the EU since 2015 and has in the past worked as adviser to the foreign minister.
