On Thursday, at a plenary sitting in Parliament, representative of the organisation Olena Rudomotkina relayed official gratitude from people of Ukraine to Lithuania and personally to the speaker for the help and support to Ukraine on its path of European integration.
It was hoped that the Association Agreement with Ukraine would be signed in late November 2013 at the Summit in Vilnius, during Lithuania’s Presidency of the European Union Council. Prior to the meeting, peaceful protests supporting Ukraine’s Eurointegration were held in Kiev. However, the Association Agreement was not signed.
According to Rudomotkina, Lithuanian delegation headed by Parliament Speaker Loreta Graužinienė encouraged Ukraine, provided optimism and hope and therefore deserved gratitude.
The speaker of the Seimas visited Ukraine on 26-27 November 2013 and 16-17 March 2014.
