The Lithuanian chapter of Booking.com was set up last June. According to the national registry, the company currently employs a staff of five people. However, the company is looking for at least two more employees.

Booking.com placed two ads on the LinkedIn network, advertising a Vilnius-based position for a project manager and another position for a hotel coordinator.

Booking.com originated from a start-up in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, that was set up in 1996. Ten years ago, the online hotel and hostel booking system was bought by US company Priceline. The deal was worth USD 135m.

According to the company, over 750,000 bookings are processed by Booking.com each day. It also runs booking service Villas.com, targeting customers who look to rent villas, cottages and houses for their holidays.

Booking.com currently operates in 210 countries and 40 languages.
