African swine fever descends upon entire Jonava region

Six commercial farms have been included in a 10km surveillance zone after the State Food and Veterinary Service diagnosed African swine fever in a pig farm situated in Jonava in Žeimiai village.

In addition to that, 36 wild boars infected with the fever have been found and killed in Jonava region alone in July.

African swine fever hot spots are rapidly growing in Kaišiadorys region where, this year, six cases have been detected in farms and 27 among wild boars. As a resul, all pigs in Kaišiadorys region are to be slaughtered as well.
