Bilotaitė withdraws from the TS-LKD chairmanship race

Homeland Union – Lithuanian Christian Democrats member Agnė Bilotaitė has chosen to abandon participation in the party chairman elections and has now called for support for the candidacy of incumbent Chairman Gabrielius Landsbergis, Alfa.lt reported.

“It is important to unite the party, so that it would speak in one voice, understanding its mission as the personal goal and ambition of every member. It is important to turn to the regions, gather those willing and capable to work for Lithuania there, to strengthen the party branches, provide robust support for them, encourage the participation of party members in the regions,” A. Bilotaitė stated in her address to fellow party members.

She added that “The party needs unifying leadership, a leader who hears. If we speak and act in differing directions we will weaken rapidly, eventually completely vanishing from the Lithuanian political map. I am certain that the current chairman will take up this difficult task and will ensure consistent and principled party activity for the next four years.”

The member of Seimas claims that currently the TS-LKD is the most transparent party in Lithuania. Thus the duty of its members is to strengthen the people’s trust in politicians who are prepared to give their all that the citizens would once more trust in the state and its government.
