The winner received 9.5 out of 10 possible points. The second and third placed candidates received 8 and 7.8 points respectively.
The candidates’ suitability to head the VMI was assessed by a ten-member commission chaired by Deputy Minister of Finance, Algimantas Rimkūnas. The commission consisted of representatives of the Ministry of Finance, Office of the Government and the Civil Service Department.
Each member of the commission personally evaluated the candidates’ suitability to take the public servant’s office from 1 to 10 points. Every candidate’s points were added up and divided from the number of commission members.
The winner of the competition, Dainoras Bradauskas, is a son of Bronius Bradauskas, Chairman of the Seimas Committee on Finance. Dainoras Bradauskas has graduated in economics at Vilnius University. He has been Deputy Director and Acting Director of the VMI. Bradauskas will assume office when the minister of finance signs his appointment decree.
