The court has ruled that migration officials have to issue a Lithuanian-French dual citizen with a passport where his surname Jacquet is spelt both in Lithuanian and in the original form on the main page. The ruling is subject to appeal.
“This marks the first time that a court has ordered writing down both versions of a surname, including the original one, on the main page of a passport,” Evelina Dobrovolska, assistant lawyer at the European Foundation of Human Rights (EFHR), told BNS on Friday.
