The Competition Council had found that Maxima, which runs the biggest supermarket chain in Lithuania, had an agreement with Mantinga, its supplier of bread and other products, not to sell the products at Maxima stores bellow a set price. The Supreme Administrative Court ruled on Monday that there is enough evidence that there was such an agreement.
Maxima will have to pay a fine of €13,666,216, while Mantinga is fined €2,151,417, according to the final ruling which cannot be appealed.
The Competition Council said the agreement between the companies had run for a decade.
