More than 7,000 antiviral drug packages of Relenza were released from the Lithuanian state reserve of medical supplies along with over 205,500 packages of Relenza and 2,400 packages of another antiviral drug Tamiflu that were released from the stocks of the Ministry of Health. The value of the aid is almost €407,000.
Lithuanian Health Minister Rimantė Šalaševičiūtė said “the Ukrainian Prime Minister telephoned us and thanked us on behalf of the government for the support which is currently very necessary.”
The Lithuanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that since 2014, Lithuania’s public institutions had provided humanitarian aid worth more than €1.1 million to Ukraine.
Lithuanian armed forces material support for Ukraine value last year reached €387,000. This year there is no funding planned for material military support. Lithuania‘s support this year will be concentrated on military education and training, according to Viktorija Cieminytė, the head of the public information department at the Ministry of Defence.
