ELECTIONS. Urbonaitė: the Conservatives failed to mobilise

“The voters that showed up, they didn’t vote for the Conservatives, they voted for the LVŽS. Overall, those who didn’t vote for the LVŽS in the first round, voted for them now. The Conservatives have one problem – their electorate is very loyal, but they are unable to bring in new voters. Those who do not vote for them, pathologically hate them. This is why we have the current situation. I believe that the fairly decent first round performance was followed by a painful loss in the second because they failed at mobilising and making decisions. Furthermore there is a demand for novelty. Novelty played a big part. The voters decided to give us a surprise and go against the establishment,” R. Urbonaitė told LRT.lt.
