The tender has been divided in 170 pieces – 17 different products will be bought in 10 different counties. ESFA is waiting offers from companies until Aug. 21, with the food to be distributed in 2018.
Some 90.8 million euros, including 77.2 million euros in European Union (EU) money, has been earmarked for food for the most needy people in Lithuania in the 2014-2020 period.
The products under the program used to be bought by the Agriculture and Food Product Market Regulation Agency, however, it was closed down after reports showed it used to buy food at a price that was higher than the market price.
