First group of Lithuania’s 2018 conscripts start their military service

Some 153 young people will do their nine-month military service in the General Adolfas Ramanauskas Warfare Training Center in Pabradė, close to Vilnius.

Over 900 young people, including 60 females, have already volunteered for enlistment and over 2,000 of those included into this year’s draftee lists have asked to be drafted on a priority basis.

A total of 3,864 conscripts will be called up for mandatory military service in various units of the Lithuanian Armed Forces this year.
