Government approves Lithuania-Russia border demarcation documents

Approval from the governments of the two countries is needed in order to finalize the procedure.

A joint Lithuania-Russia demarcation commission, set up back in 2006, completed its work by signing the demarcation documents in late 2017.

The Lithuania-Russia border demarcation process will be finalized after the two countries exchange diplomatic notes and the documents take effect. This will also complete Lithuania’s entire state border demarcation process.

The length of Lithuania’s border shared with Russia, both on land and at sea, totals 297.12 kilometers.
