How big is Lithuania’s black market?

The black market in Lithuania shrank by 1% in 2015 to 25.8% and shrank by 5% over the last decade (from 31.1% in 2005). Currently, Lithuania’s black market is smaller than Estonia’s (at 26.2%).

However, contraband only makes up a small portion of the black market index in Lithuania – 2/3 of this index reflects the situation in Lithuania’s job market.

Lithuanians spend and average of €72 per month on illegal products and services, but they earn an average of €489 on the unofficial job market.
