In 2014, the male unemployment rate stood at 12.2 percent, female – 9.2 percent. Over a year, the male unemployment rate decreased by 0.9 percentage points, female – 1.3 percentage points.
Last year, the long-term unemployment rate stood at 4.8 percent and was by 0.3 percentage points lower than in 2013.
In 2014, there were 158,000 job seekers, i.e. by 14,400(8.4 percent) less than in 2013. In 2014, there were 89,800 unemployed men and 68,300 unemployed women.
The number of the long-term unemployed was 70,700 (44.7 percent of the total number of the unemployed), which is by 3,400 thousand (4.5 percent) less than in 2013.
Over a year, the employment rate of persons aged 15-64 grew by 2 percentage points.
Last year, Lithuania’s youth (persons aged 15-24) unemployment rate stood at 19.3 percent and was by 2.6 percentage points lower than in 2013.
