Professor Vitoldas Vaitkevičius, the head of the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture at Kaunas University of Technology, said that “if normal concrete binding starts within an hour, the substance we developed starts binding after 10-15 minutes. Clay block, which is commonly used in construction of individual houses, has strength of up to 5-7 MPa and the strength of our material used in 3D printer can be selected from a few to 30-40 MPa.”
“We have the materials, we have a prototype of the printer. The next step will be to upgrade the existing technology – the surface of the material processing, certain technological printing nuances. We cannot do further work without the involvement of the business,” Vaitkevičius said.
