Liberal Movement announces candidate list with promises of freedom and non-interference from state

Liberal Movement party board has approved the list of candidates who will participate in the parliamentary election in the multi-member constituency. About 190 party members and non-party candidates are on the list.

The top ten in the list includes the leader on the list parliament member Eugenijus Gentvilas, Olympic champion, former Interior Ministry adviser Virgilijus Alekna, MPs Vitalijus Gailius and Viktorija Čmilytė-Nielsen, former Minister of Culture Arūnas Gelūnas, Klaipėda city council member Simonas Gentvilas, MP Gintaras Steponavičius, athlete and businessman Žydrūnas Savickas, MPs Kęstutis Glaveckas and Dalia Kuodytė. Liberal Movement party‘s list was rated by the board of the party.

“I am ready to lead liberals in the forthcoming election. Liberals‘ vision is very clear: people will be able to work and earn, the government will not interfere in the personal life, everyone will be free and respected. We need to return to people the faith of their state, that they would see perspectives in Lithuania,” said E. Gentvilas, the leader of the liberals‘ list for the upcoming parliamentary election.

The Liberal Movement party’s board has approved the list of candidates who will participate in the parliamentary elections in the multi-member constituency this October.

Around 190 party members and non-party candidates have tried to get on the list.

The list does not include the party’s former leader Eligijus Masiulis, who suspended his membership after suspicions of corruption were brought against him, nor the liberals’ current leader Remigijus Šimašius, the mayor of Vilnius.

Candidates on the Liberal Movement’s list were ranked by the board of the party.

We need to return to people the faith in their state, let them see the future in Lithuania,” said Gentvilas, the leader of the liberals‘ list for the upcoming parliamentary election.
