Lithuania and Oman launch negotiations over investment agreement

The experts of the two countries are discussing about the main provisions of the agreement aimed at creating mutually beneficial conditions for investors in both countries.

Once the agreement is signed, Lithuanian and Omani businesspeople will be encouraged to invest in each other’s country.

The bilateral agreement aims to establish the highest protection standards of investments and investor interests that meet the European Union’s investment policy.

It is hoped that the Lithuania-Oman agreement will stimulate private business initiatives. It will establish legal basis for deeper economic cooperation between Lithuania and Oman.

The first stage of negotiations between the two countries on investment promotion and mutual protection agreement took place in June 2014 in Muscat, the Sultanate of Oman.
