Lithuania and Denmark are the only countries on the continent which have a totally sufficient fresh groundwater supply.
“This is an exceptional privilege created by nature. We can truly boast that we have unlimited water resources with 3.75 million cubic meters per day can be drained from the soil. This volume can be pumped out safely without degrading groundwater resources,” said Satkūnas.
Lithuanian residents currently consume about 0.5 million cubic meters of water a day.
