Under the document signed in Marijampolė, in southern Lithuania, Juozas Olekas and Raimonds Bergmanis agreed “to make every effort” to synchronize the procurement of such equipment as fire distribution centers for air defense, anti-tank missiles and short-range anti-aircraft missiles, etc.

For this purpose, the neighboring countries will exchange information on the development of their defense capabilities and on their procurement.

According to the Lithuanian Defence Ministry, the Baltic countries implemented a successful joint procurement project in 2013. Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia then signed an agreement with the European Defence Agency on the joint acquisition of ammunition for Carl Gustav grenade launchers.
