Lithuania, Latvia to jointly purchase pneumococcal vaccine

“We have joined forces with our Latvian colleagues as we expect to purchase these vaccines at a lower price than individually,” Neringa Bernotienė, the fund’s deputy director, said.

“If the tender process is successful, we expect to sign a contract with a vaccine supplier next June,” she added.

Lithuania and Latvia are looking to buy over 316,000 doses of pneumococcal vaccine for children aged up to two years, an amount sufficient to vaccinate children in the two Baltic countries for two years.

Latvia has authorized Lithuania to handle the vaccine procurement process.
