According to the head of Government, the goals of the Let’s Do It campaign are important and relevant, thus it is pleasing that the ideas of clean environment and public spaces are attracting public support and growing interest. Butkevičius says the campaign has become a traditional spring event which unites communities. He wishes that people would follow the same principles in everyday life striving for clean environment in city parks, on coasts of rivers and lakes as well as in Lithuania’s forests.

Director of public organisation Mes Darom, Roberta Ažukaitė, presented volunteer certificates of the Let’s Do It campaign to the prime minister and the whole Cabinet.

The highly popular environment cleanup campaign will take place in Lithuania on Saturday, 25 April. This year the organisers urge the public to devote attention to cleaning bodies of water.

The prime minister and representatives of the Office of the Government will be cleaning a portion of the coast of the river Neris in Vilnius.

The international movement Let’s Do it World unites 112 countries and is recognised by the United Nations. Lithuania has become part of the movement in 2008.
