Lithuania has risen by two positions in the Global Innovation Index 2016 and is positioned 36th among 128 countries. Lithuania is in top ten under seven indicators.
Some of Lithuania’s biggest leaps in recent years are registered in indicators like Human capital and research (in 2016 – 26th position, in 2015 – 41st position) and Investments (in 2016 – 76th position, 2015 – 108th position).
However, the country has lost more than ten positions in Credit index: in 2016 Lithuania was in the 51st position, in 2015 it dropped to the 40th position.
European countries continue to top the Global Innovation Index: Switzerland, Sweden and Great Britain.
Latvia and Estonia have lost one position in this year’s ranking and are 34th and 23rd respectively.
