Lithuania to open embassy in South Africa

The country’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs proposed to the Cabinet to adopt a resolution on establishing the Lithuanian Embassy in Pretoria on 5 November.

Lithuanian Prime Minister Algirdas Butkevičius is also planning a visit to South Africa in autumn. In his words, Lithuanian businesspeople have interests in the African country. Lithuania’s BOD Group is set to start implementing a solar panel pilot project in South Africa.
