Lithuanian border guards’ helicopter leaving for Mediterranean mission

The helicopter with a crew of three will take part in Poseidon 2018, a three-month mission against illegal migration. The aircraft is scheduled to leave for Greece at around 9 a.m. and, weather permitting, reach its base on the island of Lesbos on Wednesday.

The Lithuanian helicopter will take part in the mission from Jun. 1 to Aug. 31.

Poseidon 2018 is being organized by the European Border and Coast Guard Agency (Frontex).
