Lithuanian city that people don’t want to leave

Citizens of Klaipėda are happy living in the city and only a small part of them plan to leave for elsewhere, a survey commissioned by the municipality shows.

Almost half of Klaipėda citizens have lived in the city, which is Lithuania’s third biggest, since their birth, 8% have come from surrounding areas, 10% have come from abroad and only 5% plan to leave the city.

Almost one fifth of the population walk to work on foot, another fifth use public transport, almost a third use their personal vehicles. Sixty-nine percent of Klaipėda citizens have cars and 1% own yachts.
