Lithuanian embassy asks Israel to explain deportation of Lithuanian activist

“After receipt of a written plea from Tervidyte, we have turned to the Consular Division of the Foreign Ministry of Israel asking to explain the reasons behind refusal of entry to the Lithuanian citizen,” Kęstutis Vaškelevičius, spokesman for the Lithuanian foreign minister said.

He emphasised it was a regular procedure and practice applied by embassies of Lithuania and other countries of the European Union (EU) in Israel after denial of entry to EU citizens.

Tervidytė was detained at the David Ben-Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv in April and sent back to Lithuania a few days later.
