Lithuanian foreign minister leaves for Brazil

Linkevičius is scheduled to meet with his Brazilian counterpart, Mauro Vieira, and visit the Brazilian Ministry of Economy, the Lithuanian Foreign Ministry said.

The minister will greet participants of the economic presentation of Lithuania and other Baltic states in the Industrialists Confederation of the State of Sao Paulo, meet with representatives of Lithuanian companies involved in the business mission, visit the Lithuanian companies’ stand at the Latin American car part fair.

The agenda of the five-day visit also includes a meeting with the leadership of the Brazilian diplomatic academy and a discussion with young diplomats, a lecture at the Institute of International Relations of the Sao Paulo University, meetings with ambassadors of the US, European Union (EU) and Eastern Partnership countries, as well as an interview to the Brazilian media.

Linkevičius will officially inaugurate Lithuania’s consulate general in Sao Paulo. The event will also celebrate 25 years of Lithuania’s independence. The minister will meet with members of the local Lithuanian community.
